About department of Electrical Engineering 

      The department of Electrical Engineering at WAINGANGA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, NAGPUR offers a vibrant environment for postgraduate education and research in Electrical Engineering. Established in 2010, the vision of the department is to provide the leadership to enable India's excellence in the field of Electrical Engineering.

The department is currently engaged in research in many areas of Electrical Engineering including Power Systems, Energy Studies, Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, High Voltage engineering, Signal Processing, Image Processing and Multimedia, Biomedical Imaging, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, etc. This branch of engineering deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism.

The department equips the student to develop ability to apply ICT knowledge in engineering analysis, design simulation and control as a result of adequate exposure to various software during course tenure.

Career opportunities include working as technical support engineer, research & development engineer, production engineer in electrical companies, telecommunication industry, computer hardware or software industry, automobile industry, power station, in designing and manufacturing of electrical circuits etc.

Mechanical Enginnering

About Mechanical Engineering

 Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
 It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering disciplines. The field has continually evolved to incorporate advancements in technology, and mechanical engineers today are pursuing developments in such fields as composites, mechatronics, and nanotechnology.
 
Mechanical Engineering in WCEM Mechanical Engineering department has been established in 2009 with intake capacity of 60 which was increased to 120 from the session 2011-12, approved by AICTE New Delhi, Government of Maharashtra and Institute of Engineers (India). The intake capacity of the department is 120 in the current year 2015-16. The department started M. Tech. (CAD/CAM) PG course from session 2014-15 with intake capacity of 24 seats.

The department has organized various programs like National Conference, Short Term Training Programs Industry-Institute-Interaction cell activities. The Department believes in bringing an attitudinal change in the students and to create and maintain environment conducive to their learning and developing qualities & skills, which would facilitate them to face challenges at the work place with confidence and perfection.

The department has highly qualified staff with industrial experience. Department provides additional training to our students on CAD/CAM, CNC-Trainer and other areas. The students of the department also excel in the University and secure merit ranks every year.

 The head of the department is Prof. Dilip Gangwani. The Central workshop has a separate building Fitting Shop, carpentry Shop, welding Shop, smithy Shop, foundry Shop and machine Shop. It is fully equipped with machines, which ranges from conventional engine lathe to contemporary CNC machine. Mechanical engineering is one of the core branches of Engineering.

It provides in-depth understanding of core concept including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, energy and manufacturing. The student get knowledge of mechanics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, kinematics and dynamics of system, robotics, machine design, automation, computer graphics and material science.

 Mechanical engineers are required not only in hard core mechanical industries, but also in chemical, process fertilizers and software industries. They have got good scope in government sector namely Ordnance factories, Indian Railway, Navy, Air Force, Army, marine, Power Plants, Aerospace etc.

Civil Engineering


CIVIL Engineering in WCEM 

The Civil Engineering Department was established in the year 2013, the department is endowed with highly qualified and well experienced faculties. The intake of Civil Engineering Department is 60 and approved by AICTE New Delhi, Government of Maharashtra and Institute of Engineers (India).

 The department has organized various programs like National Conference, Short Term Training Programs Industry-Institute-Interaction cell activities. Department provides additional training to our students on AUOCAD, STAD PRO and other areas We take great pleasure to present this Civil Engineering course to the students. It is core engineering branch which highlights aspects necessary for infrastructure facilities needed in any branch of engineering.

The course is structured such that the students understand the latest techniques, equipments, applications and automations. The field practices gives insight to all features of the construction industry. Here the students have the best platform to explore themselves beyond their imaginations and evolve as perfect individuals in all domains of life.

The students are guided and motivated professionally to evolve as perfect technocrats to satisfy dynamic needs of the global construction industry. The Civil Engineering Department has Stable, qualified and experienced faculty. Well equipped laboratories and Strong teaching learning process. Curriculum of this course is designed to meet current industrial requirements with an emphasis on industrial interaction and applied engineering.

Department of Civil Engineering has good liaison with Industries and various Research Centers. Eminent Academicians, Researchers and Professionals are invited for motivating and inspiring young mind of future technocrats.

Computer Science and IT department


About Computer Science and IT department

 In the Master's degree program in Computer Science and Engineering, you will learn to design quality software. You will also combine a scientific perspective with the approach of an engineer. You will systematically produce inventories of requirements and incorporate them into your design. You will also be able to make qualitative and quantitative judgments regarding the extent to which those requirements have been met.

As a Master's-level graduate, you will be able to play a leading role in the development of your specialist field, whether in scientific research, in industry, in commercial businesses or in (government) organizations. Compulsory element The program includes compulsory courses as well as greater freedom of choice in the form of electives. You learn how to create reliable protocols for the behavior of complex software systems. To do this requires knowledge of algorithms, performance, hardware, and design and documentation methods.

You also need an understanding of the variability and maintainability of these protocols. These aspects are covered in the compulsory element of the Master's program. A wide range of options The freedom you have to determine the content of your program enables you to take your studies in any direction: from a heavily theory-based program to the complete opposite in the form of a more practice-based program.

 You could focus on formal methods, or on visualization techniques. You will also deepen your knowledge of cryptology or applications for data mining.

About Department of Electronics Established in 2008, the department has always remained on the forefront in producing quality engineers who have brought great laurels to the institute, society and nation at large.

The department has a tradition of attracting the topmost merit students at UG from across the state. The department offers excellent infrastructure and resources in the form of knowledgeable faculty, well equipped laboratories and a library having a vast collection of informative books. It has faculty, PG and research students working in research areas related to cutting edge technologies such as VLSI and Embedded Systems, Communication Networks, Computer vision and Pattern Recognition, Signal Coding and Communication .

 The Department offers two under graduate courses: 1) B.E. (Electronics) and B.E. (Electronics and Telecommunication), 2) One post graduate course M.tech. (Electronics). The department caters to the ever increasing needs of technical brilliance in all allied areas of electronics engineering such as Microelectronics, telecommunication, control and automation, power systems and power electronics.

 There are around 8 well equipped and sufficiently staffed laboratories which includes a PG lab exclusively meant for the research. The department contributes to the process of producing efficient and resourceful engineers by embedding the R & D capabilities of the recent trends. The aim of department is to develop our students with the innovative engineering skill necessary to keep pace with the rapidly advancing electronic and telecommunication industry. Technology like VLSI, Embedded System, Image Processing, and Computer Networks has helped us to mould students in becoming quality engineers required in today’s competitive environment.

The department has always been on a high growth path and has experienced and dedicated faculty with a strong commitment to engineering education. Students are given more practical exposure and innovative methodologies for the design and development in the field of Electronic Engineering, which is the backbone for all engineering disciplines. Laboratories are equipped with major equipment such as Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzers and Standard Signal Generators etc. Software such as MATLAB, MULTISIM, XILINX, TIN ARPO and MICRO WIND is being used.

Science and Humanities


The department provides deep understanding of the fundamentals of Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Communication Skills and Applied Social Sciences. It supports the basic needs of all engineering subjects.

The department has skilled and experienced faculties. The laboratories are well equipped with essential sophisticated instruments.

Wainganga College of Engineering and Management, was established in the year 2008 to inculcate the engineering skills, technical knowledge and managerial acumen in students.
WCEM Nagpur

The college offers four year degree programs in the streams:
